Sunny Ginger Lemon Love

As seen on Top Chef All-Stars Season 17

Do you remember when my sister Jessica joined me on Top Chef All-Stars?  Together we had to create a condiment that represented us.  So we chose to make a sauce & marinade named after our other sister Sunny.  A combination of LemonGingerTurmericHoneyLove & Sunshine! Sadly, this wasn’t the judge’s favorite, but I want you to join to be the judge of that!

Special Equipment: Scale, Microplane, Chef Knife, Bowl
Serves: 2-4
Level : 1 (easy)

Ingredients

Sunny Love Sauce
Yield: 15 Oz | 430 g

S.G.L.L Sauce can be used as is in a Vinaigrette , Marinade proteins, (such as lamb, steak, & chicken). Great with Ceviches, & other seafood. Or you could ad to yogurt to give a nice tang, & brightness

Method:

SGLL Sauce

  • Rinse preserved lemons with warm water
  • Brunoise the preserved lemon & add to a bowl
  • Using a microplane, grate lemon zest, turmeric, & ginger directly into a bowl
  • Add remaining ingredients (lemon juice, honey, water, & oil)
  • Now you can use as is in a Vinaigrette , Marinade proteins, (such as lamb, steak, & chicken). Great with Ceviches, & other seafood. Or you could ad to yogurt to give a nice tang, & brightness
